Automatic Confirmation Emails
Eventene sends an automatic confirmation email to each attendee shortly after they successfully complete their registration. This article describes what those emails contain and how to control them at the event level.
For organizer-composed Confirmations messages you build by hand, see Email Settings & Message Types.
What automatic confirmations contain
Each automatic confirmation reflects the attendee's current registration status at the time it is sent:
- Their attendance state (Attending, Not Attending, Waitlisted)
- The Activities they selected
- Their answers to any registration questions
- A link back to their personalized Program view
Because the email reflects the current state, attendees who later change a response and re-register will receive a fresh confirmation reflecting their new choices.
When automatic confirmations are sent
Eventene sends the confirmation once registration is successfully completed. "Successfully completed" means:
- The attendee has finished filling in their attendance and any required questions
- For Programs with required payment, payment is complete
Confirmations are sent shortly after registration finishes. Most attendees receive theirs within a few minutes.
When automatic confirmations may not be sent
Some attendees won't receive an automatic confirmation. The most common reasons:
- Registration is not yet complete — for example, the attendee filled in attendance but hasn't completed required questions or required payment.
- Payment is still pending — for paid Programs, the confirmation waits for successful payment before being sent.
- The attendee is waitlisted — Waitlist status is not treated as a completed registration for confirmation purposes.
- The attendee has no email address on file — confirmations can only be sent to attendees with a valid email.
- The organizer has turned off automatic confirmations for this event — see the section below.
If an attendee should have received a confirmation but didn't, see Why an Attendee Might Not Receive a Confirmation, or use Resending Confirmation Emails to send one manually.
Turning automatic confirmations on or off
Each event has a setting that controls whether Eventene sends automatic confirmations.
TODO (screenshot): Email Settings page showing the "Send attendance confirmation email" toggle. To be captured once the related UI changes ship.
To change the setting:
- Open your event.
- Go to Email Settings.
- Switch Send attendance confirmation email to On or Off.
On (default): Eventene sends automatic confirmations once an attendee successfully completes registration.
Off: No automatic confirmations go out for this event. You can still send confirmations manually with Resending Confirmation Emails — manual resends always work, even when automatic confirmations are off.
Free Programs
Confirmation emails for free Programs (no required products) look the same as any other successful confirmation: they confirm attendance and list the attendee's selections, without any payment-related copy. Free attendees no longer see a "No payment required" note in their confirmation header — the message simply confirms the registration.
