Assign Tags to Activities
Overview
Activity tags are labels you apply to activities inside a program to organize, find, and filter them. They are useful when you have many activities and need a fast way to group them by type, audience, or priority.
Activity tags are managed inside the program. Each program has its own set of activity tags, separate from people tags.
How to Use It
Add a tag to one activity
- Open your program
- Go to the Activities tab
- Select an activity to open the edit panel
- Locate the Tags field
- Select an existing tag, or type a new tag name and create it
- Save your changes
You can apply multiple tags to the same activity.
Remove a tag from an activity
- Open the activity
- In the Tags field, remove the tag you no longer need
- Save your changes
Removing the tag from one activity does not delete the tag itself — it remains available for other activities. To delete a tag entirely, see Manage Tags.
Apply tags to many activities at once
For larger updates, use bulk actions on the activities list. See Bulk Actions for Activities.
Tags carry over when copying
When you copy an activity or copy a program, the activity tags are included in the copy. This makes tags useful for templates — set up a consistent tag scheme once, and reuse it for every recurring program.
See Copy Activities and Copy a Program.
Find activities by tag
Once tags are applied, you can filter the activities list to show only matching activities.
- Open the program and go to the Activities tab
- Open the Filters menu
- Select one or more tags
The list will update to show matching activities. See Filter Using Tags.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use a small number of broad tags (e.g. Workshop, Keynote, Required) rather than many overlapping ones
- Tag activities consistently across recurring programs so reports and filters work the same way each time
- Use color to make priority or category tags easy to spot in a long list
- Avoid using tags to control who sees an activity — that is the role of groups
