What is the Summary Dashboard?

Summary is the home screen of an Event — the first tab in the event menu bar and the page you land on when you open an Event. It is your command center: a single screen that tells you how the Event is doing, shows the front page attendees will read, and gives you the tools to promote the Event and jump into the workspaces where you do the work.

Summary answers questions like:

  • Is registration open, and how much time is left before the Event?
  • How is attendance shaping up, are required Questions getting answered, and are people paying?
  • What does my Event's front page look like right now — and can I fix a typo without leaving?
  • How do I share the Event, and where do I go next?

What changed. Summary was recently rebuilt as a three-column dashboard. The old stacked layout and section labels are gone; the columns now supply the grouping. Your Event's first Page is shown front-and-center with inline editing, and the Promote Event card (formerly Share Event) lives here on Summary rather than on Pages. The full Pages workspace — where you create, reorder, hide, and richly format every Page — is still the home for deeper content work. See Managing Event Pages.

The event menu

Summary is the leftmost tab in the event menu bar. The full menu, in order, is:

Summary · Pages · Activities · Send · Track · Assign · Payments · Points

  • Summary — this dashboard
  • Pages — the attendee-facing information pages (Managing Event Pages)
  • Activities — the sessions, workshops, and sign-ups in the Event
  • Send — compose and send emails to participants
  • Track — the reporting and operations surface (What is Track?)
  • Assign — place participants into Sections and Spots
  • Payments — payment setup and collection (when the Event uses payments)
  • Points — engagement points (when the Event uses points)

The event header

The header at the top of Summary identifies the Event and carries its key status at a glance: the Event's name, cover image, status and publish tags, its dates, and a metadata row with the Location, Attendance Style, Visibility, Registration status, and a schedule countdown (Starts In before the Event, Ends In once it has begun). Use the edit (pencil) control next to the Event name to open the Event's settings side panel.

The dashboard

Below the header, Summary is a three-column layout. There are no section labels — each column answers a different question, and its position does the grouping.

Left column — Event Health

The left column answers "is this Event on track?" It reuses the same status-bar-and-legend cards you see in Track, rolled up for the Overall Event, so the executive view and the operational view speak the same visual language.

  • Attendance — a donut showing the Event-wide breakdown of Attending, Waitlisted, Not Attending, and Undecided
  • Required Questions — how many participants have finished the required event-level Questions, using the same completion calculation as Track's Overall Event card. A "For event-level questions only" subtitle spells out the scope. (Questions attached to individual Activities are tracked on those Activities in Track.)
  • Payments — shown only when the Event collects payments. Summary displays the same two cards as Track's Overall Event page: Overall Event Payments (event-level) and Activity Payments, each reading Paid / Pending / Unpaid.

Every Health card and legend row links into Track → Overall Event, and the Paid / Pending / Unpaid and Complete / Incomplete legend rows open the matching drill-down side panel — so the counts you see here match Track exactly, and one click takes you to the people behind any number. Email delivery cards (Emails Sent, Email Tracking) intentionally live on Track's Overall Event page, not on Summary — Summary keeps Event Health to the handful of signals an organizer checks most.

Center column — the Event at a glance and your front Page

The center column is the visual anchor of the dashboard. At the top is a compact strip of the four primary metrics, each clickable:

Metric What it shows Links to
Participants Number of people referenced by the Event Track → Overall Event
Attending How many have said they are attending Track → Overall Event
Activities Number of Activities Activities
Pages Number of information Pages The Pages workspace

Below the metrics, Summary shows your Event's first Page — rendered exactly as attendees see it, not a preview or a thumbnail. A small header row carries the Page's own title on the left and a subtle Manage Pages (N) link on the right that opens the full Pages workspace.

You can edit this front Page in place: click the pencil that floats in the upper-right of the page content to enter the rich-text editor, make your change, and save from the editor's toolbar. It's the fastest way to fix a typo or update a detail on your landing page without leaving the dashboard. For everything else — adding more Pages, reordering them, hiding them, or formatting a Page in depth — use the Pages workspace.

Right column — Promote and navigate

The right column is where you share the Event and jump into its structure.

  • Promote Event — your toolbox for the public Event Website. It shows the Event Website URL with a one-click Copy button, a View Website button that opens the public site in a new tab, a Share… action (which uses your device's native share sheet and falls back to copying the link), and a QR Code you can expand in place to Copy, Download as a PNG, or Print on a ready-made flyer.
  • Activity Groups — the Groups the Event's Activities draw people from
  • Activity Sections — the Sections (Places) the Event's Activities use, shown when the Event has them

The Activity Groups and Sections links open in a new tab, so Summary stays put as your dashboard while you inspect or edit a Group or Section.

TODO (screenshot): The three-column Summary dashboard — Event Health on the left, the metric strip and inline-editable first Page in the center, and the Promote Event card with Activity Groups / Sections on the right. Replace after the bobcat_web Summary redesign PR (#2997) is merged.

Summary vs. the other workspaces

Summary is a dashboard, so it shows the rollup and hands you off to the workspace that owns the detail:

  • Deeper Page work (add, reorder, hide, or format Pages) → the Pages workspace
  • The people behind any numberTrack — Summary shows the rollup, Track shows the people
  • Configuring the Event (dates, registration window, visibility) → the Event settings side panel, from the header's edit control
