Choose How Attendees Register

Eventene gives you two ways to put registration in front of attendees. Both use the same setup underneath — the same activities, questions, products, and attendance rules — so the choice is about how you want people to arrive, not about what they will be asked.

The two options

Neither replaces the other, and you don't have to pick just one — an event can have a shared Event Website and send direct registration links in its invitations.

When Event Website registration fits

Choose it when people need to read about the event before they commit:

  • Public conferences, workshops, fundraisers, and community events
  • Anything you promote on your own website, in social posts, or with a QR code
  • Events where the schedule, location, or FAQ is part of the sell

When a standalone registration form fits

Choose it when the event is not something you want to advertise, or when the invitation is the front door:

  • Private, internal, or members-only events
  • Events with a fixed guest list where a public page adds nothing
  • Events where you would rather not expose details, dates, or attendance to anyone with a link

Every invitation email carries a direct registration link, so this path needs no extra setup. Standalone registration forms remain fully supported.

Two settings in Edit Event decide what a visitor can see and do, independently of which path you use:

  • Event Visibility — Invitees Only or Everyone
  • Event Registration — Invite Only or Open

Setting Event Visibility to Invitees Only is what keeps event details private, even though the Event Website URL still exists. See What is an Event Website? for the useful combinations, and Configure Registration for Invite-Only Events for restricting who may register.

Using both together

A common pattern for a members' event that also takes public sign-ups:

  1. Set Event Visibility to Everyone so anyone can read the details
  2. Set Event Registration to Open so anyone may register
  3. Share the Event Website link publicly
  4. Email your members directly — their invitation link drops them straight into registration without hunting for the button

Both groups end up in the same event, with the same activities and questions.
