Verify Your Email Address
Sometimes, after you enter your email address to register, Eventene asks you for a 6-digit code before it will go any further. This article explains why, and what to do if the code doesn't turn up.
Why you're being asked
You're asked to verify when the organizer already has your email address — because you were invited, because you're on their roster, or because you've registered for this event before.
Your registration can hold personal details: your answers, your schedule, what you paid. Anyone can type an email address, so entering a code proves the address really is yours before anything is shown. Until you enter it, nothing about your registration appears on screen.
If you're already signed in to Eventene with that same address, you won't be asked.
Where the code is sent
To the email address you just typed, and nowhere else. The screen reads Check your email and shows the address so you can confirm you typed it correctly.
The code is 6 digits. On a phone, your keyboard may offer to fill it in straight from the message.
If the code doesn't arrive
Work through these in order:
- Wait a moment. Email is usually quick but not instant.
- Check spam or junk. This is by far the most common cause.
- Check the address you typed. If there's a typo, choose Use a different email and start again with the right one.
- Press "Send another code". A fresh code is sent.
- Check any other mailbox you might have used — a work address, or a partner's address the organizer might have on file.
If a code was sent very recently, you'll see a note asking you to check your inbox, including spam, before requesting another. The code already sent is still good.
If your code doesn't work
- "That code isn't right." Check you're reading the newest email — an earlier code won't work. Retype it carefully.
- "That code has expired." Codes don't last indefinitely. Press Send another code and use the new one.
- "Too many incorrect codes." Request a new one and enter it carefully.
If the form pauses
After a lot of attempts in a short time, you may see Too many attempts and be asked to wait a few minutes. Nothing is wrong with your registration — wait the time shown and try again.
You might also see a short Quick check asking you to confirm you're not a robot. Pass it and you carry on exactly where you were.
Still stuck?
Contact the event organizer. They can check which address they have for you and add or correct it.
