Version 2 Evolution

Version 2 (November 2018 – January 2020) was Eventene's stabilization era. The version opened with a modern UI rewrite and matured the core platform: renaming Lists into Groups and Sections, introducing Stripe payments, formalizing the Persona model, and unifying the Web App and Mobile App accounts.

The lasting contribution of v2 was conceptual rather than visual. The v2.1 rename of Lists into Groups and Sections made Eventene's terminology match its data model — persistent people structures that exist independently of any single Event. Every subsequent platform decision flowed from that clarification.

Releases

This list shows minor releases only. Patch releases are summarized into their parent release. The full raw archive is preserved internally.

  • 2.0 — Modern UI rewrite. Responsive layout from phones to large monitors. Redesigned Dashboard, Track, Send, Assign, and Help Center.
  • 2.1 — Groups & Sections rename. Lists of People → Groups; Lists of Places → Sections; Master Lists → Main Groups / Main Sections; Segmented Lists → Subgroups / Subsections. Field Sets introduced for organizing Custom Fields. Place Name and Spots reserved fields formalized for Sections.
  • 2.2 — Assign improvements. Drag-and-drop assignment integrated with Track. Tiles and Columns view options. Subtitles for People and Places cards.
  • 2.3 — Attendance Limits and Waitlists introduced as Pro/Premier features. Private / Public Custom Fields for field-level privacy. Automatic vs Manual Waitlist movement modes.
  • 2.4 — Data Import for People and Places via CSV or Clipboard. Backup action for Admin / Owner users.
  • 2.5 — Stripe Payments (Beta) introduced with full ordering model: Products, Orders, Refunds, Service Fees (Organizer-pays / Invitees-pay). The 4-step Webform flow (Attendance → Survey → Payment → Checkout) was established here.
  • 2.6 — Tiles view for the Events List. Hide Completed Events option. Attendees tab added to Webforms (v2.6.5).
  • 2.7 — Unsplash image library. Cover image introduced as a separate concept from the Event's main image. Email Confirmation of Responses (v2.7.5).
  • 2.8 — Custom Branding for Pro/Premier. Organization logo and contact info applied to outgoing emails and Webform footers. Profile / Organization tab split in Accounts. Social Account linking (Facebook, Google) on the Web App.
  • 2.9 — Shared Events with Public/Private visibility. Sends List introduced as a per-Event communication history. Scheduled sending (Send On). Merged Accounts unified the Web App and Mobile App identity. Publish Event lifecycle setting (Pending / Active / Completed).
  • 2.9.5 — Participant View. The first cross-organization participant home at app.eventene.com/events — the moment Eventene's persistent-participant architecture became visible to participants themselves.
