Credits & Packages

Credits and Packages are Eventene's mechanism for selling prepaid bundles of access — for example, a 10-pack of classes at a discount over buying them one at a time. Once a participant owns Credits for a particular Product, they can redeem them across any Event that offers that same Stripe Product.

This is one of the platform's strongest tools for recurring programs — class series, multi-session memberships, training cohorts, and similar.

How it works

The key concept: Credits are tied to a Stripe Product, not to a single Event. When a participant buys a Package, they get Credits that can be redeemed against any Event Product backed by the same Stripe Product.

A typical setup:

  1. You sell a single class for $40 (a Product backed by Stripe Product Single Class)
  2. You sell a "10-Pack" Package for $350, which grants 10 Credits against Single Class
  3. A participant buys the Package up front
  4. Across the next ten Events that include a Single Class Product, the participant redeems one Credit per Event instead of paying $40 again

The participant saves money. Your organization gets predictable upfront revenue. Both sides benefit.

Configuring a Package

In the Web App:

  1. Open an Event that includes the Product you want to bundle
  2. Open the Product's settings
  3. Add a Package with a name, price, and Credit quantity (e.g., "10-Pack Classes" — $350 — 10 Credits)
  4. Save

The Package is now offered to participants during registration for any Event that uses this Stripe Product.

How participants use Credits

When a participant registers for an Event that has a Product backed by a Stripe Product they hold Credits against, they see their available Credits during checkout. They can choose to redeem Credits instead of paying again.

Participants see their Credit balance in the context of the specific Event registration they are completing. There is no current cross-Event balance view that aggregates all their Credits in one place — that visibility lives on the organizer side, in Track.

Credits and refunds

When a participant requests a refund for an Order that was paid with Credits:

  • The refunded Credits return to the participant's balance
  • They can re-use those Credits for future purchases or Events

Credits do not get invalidated by a refund — they go back into the pool.

Where organizers see Credit balances

Organizers can view participant Credit balances through Track. This is the canonical view for managing Credit issues, granting Credits manually (if needed), or auditing redemption history.

There is no native participant-facing summary view of "all your Credits across all Events." If a participant asks how many Credits they have, the organizer is the authoritative source.

When to use Credits & Packages

Credits & Packages work well for:

  • Class or workshop series — buy 10 sessions up front, attend across the season
  • Member-style programs — annual access bundled at a discount
  • Multi-event training cohorts — pay once, attend the full series
  • Tournaments / leagues — buy passes for the season

They are less useful for:

  • One-off events
  • Events with no recurring Stripe Product
  • Donation-style payments (which don't typically redeem against future events)

Things to keep in mind

  • Credits are tied to a Stripe Product, not to an Event. The same Credit can be redeemed across any Event using that Stripe Product.
  • Once a Package is created, the Credits it grants are available for redemption in any matching Event registration the participant takes part in.
  • Refunded Credits return to the participant's balance rather than being lost.
  • Participants don't have a dedicated cross-Event Credit dashboard; they see their balance during checkout for each Event.
