Version 1 Foundations

Version 1 (October 2017 – September 2018) is Eventene's foundational era. The version covers both the pre-MVP beta period (0.9.1 – 0.9.8, autumn 2017 – early 2018) and the MVP-and-beyond stretch (1.0 – 1.6, January – September 2018).

The lasting architecture is from this era: Build / Send / Track / Assign as the core operational surfaces, the Mobile App as the primary participant surface, persistent People in Lists separate from Events, the Persona model for multi-people-per-email, the four-state attendance model, the canonical 3-section Track Summary layout, and the Ask / All / Link attendance cascade. Most of what supports today's runtime workflows was visible in some form before v1 ended.

Major themes

  • Mobile-first origin — the Mobile App was the original RSVP surface; Webforms were added in v1.1
  • Build / Send / Track / Assign as the four core operational surfaces (pre-v1)
  • Lists with rule-based segmentation introduced in v1.3 — the architectural ancestor of Subgroups and (eventually) Tags v2
  • Activities introduced as a term in v1.5 (renamed from Event Parts)
  • The persona-per-email model visible by v1.4

Releases

This list shows minor releases. Patch releases are summarized into their parent release. The full raw archive is preserved internally.

Pre-MVP betas (October 2017 – January 2018)

  • 0.9.1 — First documented release. Build / Send / Track / Assign, Lists, and the Mobile App were already operational.
  • 0.9.2 — Default landing changed to home page. Question response archiving.
  • 0.9.3 — Attending count corrections.
  • 0.9.4 — Responded Date tracking field. Filter By with Tracking fields.
  • 0.9.5 — Tracking Fields manifest documented (Sent / Opened / Bounced / Unsubscribed at Event level; Responded / Checked In / Checked Out at Activity level). Admin user role for renaming the Organization.
  • 0.9.6 — Rich-text editor for Event Descriptions.
  • 0.9.7 — Send Reminders. Multiple-choice questions locked once a survey starts.
  • 0.9.8 — The Undecided attendance state introduced. Display values for default-vs-actual attendance.

v1.0 and beyond (January – September 2018)

  • 1.0 — MVP release. The Ask / All / Link attendance cascade formalized at both the Event and Activity levels. Rank Choice questions limited to 6 choices.
  • 1.0.2 — Track Summary layout with the three canonical sections: Attendance / Survey Questions / Email Tracking. This layout has been continuous through v4.
  • 1.0.3 — Export to CSV / Copy / Print universalized across data tables.
  • 1.1 — Web Response Forms introduced. Until this point, the Mobile App was the only RSVP surface. ("Web Response Forms" would later be renamed Webforms.)
  • 1.2 — Rich-text Send emails. Standard email template with logo, abbreviated date ranges, larger action button.
  • 1.3 — Segmented Lists with Rules. Master Lists vs Segmented Lists distinction. GDPR compliance for Privacy Policy and Terms (released exactly on May 25, 2018, the EU enforcement date). International address fields. Mobile App mapping integrations (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Uber, Lyft, Waze, and others).
  • 1.4 — Multi-Item Edit in Track Individual. The term "personas" appeared for the first time, describing multiple guests sharing an email.
  • 1.5 — "Event Parts" renamed to "Activities." "Overall Event" renamed to "Event." 3-step Webform with progress bar. Smart skip past pages with no questions. Auto-create first Activity for new accounts.
  • 1.6 — Full rich-text editor with images, video, files, tables, color, header levels, and HTML code view.
